About me

Hello & welcome to my blog!
Tel Aviv, June 2014

My name is Anna, I am a seven-teen year old student from Austria, who studied abroad for eleven months during the 2012/13 school year as an exchange student in Montréal, Québec, Canada.
March 2014, I received my nomination from the Eastern Mediterranean International School, a new UWC-like international school, which opened in September 2014, close to Tel-Aviv in Israel.

This is what this blog is going to be about!
My experience in Israel, my life, the school, the surroundings, simply everything that is going to happen in the upcoming years!

A bit more about myself: I grew up in the city. I took part in different teams, played different kind of sports and am part of the scout movement, have a free-lancer job and take part in various other activites. I am a passionate writer and  love to write articles, e.g. Spiegel Austausch Log., deinplus.at ,and #milestone Blog from Rosetta Stone.
As much as I enjoy writing, I enjoy solving mathematical problems and communicating in different languages, which brings me to my next point: my love to languages. So far I am able to speak German (it is my mother tongue), English, French, (Latin) and I have a poor knowledge of Spanish. For more than 4 years I wish to learn a language that has a different writing than the one I am used to.

What I plan to do at EMIS? As I love to take action and leave the world a bit better behind than I found it, I am looking forward to participate in all kind of community service activities, gain a basic knowledge of Arabic and Hebrew, build friendships that cross borders, try a new sport, have an amazing experience and graduate in June 2016 with an IB Diploma. My school's mission is to make education a force for peace and sustainability in the Middle East, so I am definitely looking forward to work in this direction.

Wow, hats off to you for launching into such an amazing and unique experience, looking forward to hearing what it's live to live in Israel. Good luck with the Arabic, it's such a lovely language to listen to (I've learn a little through many trips to North Africa) once you get your tongue around it. :-)
